3 voices - 3 occasions
Feb 13, 2009
On the exhibition ipseity -- abeyance opening in The Nordic House at 19:30 tonight will premiere a short film made for Rafskinna’s next issue, shot in Icelands half-built Music Hall in January. Inspired by the roofless, freezing cold building, composer Nico Muhly wrote a new piece for trombone for this occasion. Helgi Hrafn Jónsson performed, laying down three seperate voices, so the piece didn’t take form until mixed in studio. In addition to the premiere of Nico’s composition one could say that the Music Hall will be making its first (and only?) appearance as an agitator in Icelandic music scene.
