Australian born/Icelandic based musician/composer/artist Ben Frost keeps on making a stir in 2010 with By the Throat, his 2009 album released by Bedroom Community. The album seems to have struck all the right chords of the abstract noise/outer limits bible The Wire that places Frost’s album at #9 in their list of the best albums of 2009 . Pitchfork, another gospel according to the alternative music lover, gives the album a 8.4 out of 10 and states that it “ might frighten on the first listen, and it might shock by the 12th. But, somewhere in between, Frost– both a compelling new musical dramaturge and arranger– might just show you the silver lining of all these fears.” Frost’s video “Forgetting you is like breathing water” from his 2007 album Theory of Machines was included in Rafskinna#1 and still evokes those same feelings of shiver and shock now as it did in the good old noughties.
